CHICAGO _ A former music teacher at a Chicago elementary school has been charged with child pornography after a motion-activated camera was found in a public bathroom there, according to police.
Elliott Nott, 41, was arrested two weeks after the camera was found in a bathroom at Ogden International School on the city's Near Northside. He is charged with seven felony counts of unauthorized videotaping and one felony count of child pornography.
In a letter to parents this month, school Principal Michael Beyer said a device resembling a camera was found Sept. 7 in a staff bathroom on the third floor of the school's East Campus. A police statement said the camera was found in a public bathroom.
Beyer told parents an employee had been removed after the discovery but released no other details about the person.
According to an online biography, Nott was a music teacher for students in kindergarten through fifth grade and a track coach at Ogden International. He studied voice and choral directing at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, where Nott said his father was a professor.
Nott plays guitar for a bluegrass group called The Reclaimers, according to his profile.
