Ex-Sunderland defender Marcos Alonso trolls Newcastle fans after hitting Chelsea winner

Marcos Alonso trolled Newcastle United fans after scoring the goal that condemned them to defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The former Sunderland defender hit the winner for the Blues to keep his side’s five game winning run rolling – and then took to Twitter to tag in the Black Cats’ official account as he retweeted some of the chants aimed at him by the visiting supporters.

United fans – who were in fine voice throughout – had reminded him of his Sunderland connections in derogatory terms. But he added a couple of laughing emojis in a post-match Tweet.

Newcastle lost 1-0 as Steve Bruce bemoaned his side’s inability to turn “big opportunities” into “big chances”.

The tweet went down well on Wearside and had more than 2,000 likes within ten minutes, although Newcastle fans were understandably less impressed.
