Ex Strictly winner Alesha Dixon admits daughter reprimands her 'terrible' dancing

Alesha Dixon has revealed her daughter isn't a fan of her dance moves.

The Walk The Line judge has confessed that eight-year-old Azure Sienna thinks her famous mum is a 'terrible' dancer and will often 'push back' on her attempts to dance.

In addition to winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, Alesha, 43, once also famously showcased her dancing skills back in 2004, alongside Pharrell Williams in a music video for N.E.R.D.

Despite having such a cool cameo under her belt, the star admitted on Monday night's The One Show that she struggles to impresses her eight-year-old daughter.

"So you went out last night and you were an embarrassing mum?" Sam Quek asked the star during the BBC broadcast earlier this week.

"I wouldn’t say embarrassing," Alesha mused.

Sam responded: "Well I wouldn’t - I think you’re uber cool. What was the reaction of your daughter?"

The former Mis-Teeq then went on the reveal her eldest child's rather strong reception to her dancing.

"She’s so funny. No, basically every time I get up and try and dance she just pushes me back down into my chair," the star joked on the BBC show.

"She doesn’t like it because her dad and I think we’re really good dancers and she’s like, 'No you’re not, sit down!'"

Alesha shares two children with husband Azuka Ononye, a former backing dancer who she met working together on tour.

Earlier this year, the former Britain's Got Talent judge claimed becoming a mother had "grounded" her.

"Being a mum has made me a better person because I’m always mindful of my behaviour," she told the Mirror in April.

"Obviously there is still a rebellious side in me and I’m young at heart, but for the most part I’m quite sensible."

She added: "My children keep me grounded. Everything I’m doing now is to make sure they have a great future and to protect them."

Elsewhere during Monday night's chat on The One Show, Alesha was quizzed about her latest judging role on Simon Cowell's new ITV production.

Alesha is joined by Gary Barlow, Dawn French and Craig David on a star-studded judging panel for talent show Walk The Line this week.

Airing every night until Friday, Alesha claimed on Monday night the new ITV show is "what we need right now".

"Simon told me about the format quite a while ago and I loved it. At the end of the day it’s about discovering new talent but with a game show twist," she explained on The One Show sofa.

"It’s really short. we’re on every night for six nights and it could change someone’s life. At the same time you’re discovering new talent, brilliant artists and its good fun! It’s what we need right now."

"The main way I would describe it as being different is a lot of shows in the past it’s about going on that journey - there’s different rounds, there’s different stages to the competition and the audience goes on this long journey with them," she added when quizzed about how the show differs from similar formats.

"Whereas Walk The Line they’ve literally got one night and one song to make an impact and to get the audience votes which is very hard to do."
