Darren Bent has said he believes there could be a breakdown in trust between Jack Clarke and Marcelo Bielsa as the youngster's career stalls at Leeds United.
The 18-year-old completed a £10million deal to take him to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer before being loaned back to the Championship club to get regular gametime.
However that hasn't quite worked out with the youngster not playing a single minute for Leeds in the league so far.
Clarke featured 25 times for the Yorkshire side last season, a stat which makes his exclusion this time around even more peculiar.
But speaking to Football Insider , former Spurs striker Bent wonders whether the youngster has arrived back at Elland Road with the wrong attitude.
He said: “With Bielsa, if you look at Bielsa’s teams, he needs to be able to trust you. If he doesn’t trust you, like at the minute a bit with Jack Clarke, I think Bielsa feels he can’t trust him.
“I’m sure everyone thought, and I’m sure he would have thought: ‘Right, I’ve got my move to Tottenham, I’m guaranteed now a starting role in the team.’ Maybe he want back there with the wrong attitude.
“It’s really surprised me, I thought he would kick on this year.”
