Ex-Spurs man Jermaine Jenas picks out the West Ham star who is central to their upturn in form

Jermaine Jenas has singled out Andriy Yarmolenko as the man responsible for West Ham's recent form.

The Hammers currently sit third in the Premier League after losing just one of their opening seven fixtures.

While the midweek defeat against Oxford United was a huge blow, there's no arguing that Manuel Pellegrini's side have been on a sensational run in the league.

Saturday's draw against Bournemouth was the latest in a line of impressive display in the league and speaking to Match of the Day, Jenas said that he was impressed by their attacking play.

He said: "They have got a good team. I am really impressed with their frontline. (Andriy) Yarmolenko was arguably a standout against Bournemouth. He has scored three goals in his last four games. He took his goal well.

"Mark Noble is playing a little further up the pitch and has been providing loads of lovely little balls and he is always composed. The others are running off of him. He has improved his game.

"It was a really impressive display from West Ham."

Speaking of Andriy Yarmolenko's display after the 2-2 draw with the Cherries, Pellegrini said: "Andriy is a special player and I think we brought him here because he's a very technical midfielder, but in his complete career he always adds goals.

"He was very unlucky last season and his best moment that he had out due to injury his Achilles tendon, but he returned working very hard.

"I'm very happy with his performances as he's not only scoring, he doesn't lose any ball during the game and he always works very hard."
