Ex-Rangers youth leaves Barry Ferguson's Kelty Hearts to return to Junior ranks

Former Rangers youth Ben Reilly has signed up for a second spell at West Premiership cracks Troon.

The 22-year-old winger returns to Portland Park on a permanent deal just nine months after he left for Albion Rovers.

He had a successful six months at Cliftonhill as an integral part of the Kevin Harper side that famously beat relegation from League Two against the odds.

A move to Lowland League side Kelty Hearts - managed by Gers legend Barry Ferguson -  followed in the summer but Reilly has decided that his future lies with Troon.

His all-action style made him a fans; favourite with the Seasiders  first time round, where he made the right back spot his own.

Reilly was part of the Albion Rovers side that completed the Great Escape in League Two (airdrie and coatbridge advertiser)

He goes straight into the squad for Saturday's third round Scottish Junior Cup tie at home to Kilsyth Rangers.

Reilly began his career with Hamilton before he was picked up by Rangers at the age of 14.

He spent four years working his way through the Ibrox side's youth set-up before returning to Hamilton. Spells at Livingston, East Fife and Cowdenbeath followed before he made a big first impression at Troon.
