Ex-Rangers youth attracting Motherwell interest as 'bid thrown out'

Motherwell are reportedly interested in signing Partick Thistle striker Zak Rudden.

The former Rangers youth player has netted nine goals for the Championship side this season and the Scottish Sun report the Steelmen have "had a bid thrown out" for the 21-year-old.

'Well's Premiership rivals St Johnstone are also chasing his signature, with two bids reported to have been knocked back by the Maryhill outfit.

Partick are believed to be holding out for a "six-figure sum", but the youngster's contract expires at the end of the season.

The Steelmen may see Zudden as a replacement for the out-going Tony Watt, who has signed a pre-contract with Dundee United and could yet leave in this window if the Tangerines meet Motherwell's demands on a fee, believed to be six figures.

Rudden netted Partick's second goal in yesterday's 2-2 draw with Hamilton Accies, taking him to the cusp of double figures in 24 appearances this term.
