Ex-Rangers star Josh Windass gets tattoo of Sheffield Wednesday Wembley play-off winner goal time

Josh Windass has got himself a permanent reminder of his Wembley heroics with Sheffield Wednesday.

The former Rangers attacker sparked incredible scenes at the England national stadium as he headed home in the third minute of added time at the end of extra-time to send the Owls back to the English Championship with a victory over a Barnsley side who had battled with ten men for a huge chunk of the contest.

The match looked destined for penalties before the one-time Light Blues man stepped up as he sent the players and fans in the Wednesday side of the ground crazy with the Barnsley end left shell-shocked and knowing it would be another season in English League One. It wasn't an easy play-off route for Windass and Co who had to recover in the semi-final from a four goal defeat in the first leg at Peterborough.

They scored a dramatic goal at Hillsborough to win 4-0 in normal time to take the clash to extra-time before falling behind once again in the additional 30. Callum Paterson then scored that crucial goal to force penalties and complete one of the most incredible play-off comebacks in history.

The scene was written for such drama once again and Windass was that hero. He's now had that moment marked on his arm forever after a tattoo of the time he scored which was '120+3'.

Tattoo artist Tommy Hibberd was delighted to be the man to mark that moment writing: "What a pleasure to tattoo 'that moment' on @windassjnr yesterday."

Reflecting on the dramatic day, he posted on Instagram last month saying: “Goal 16 was a memorable one, we got relegated because of a points deduction.

“We didn’t deserve to be in this league. We fought every day to get back up, high standards and incredible team spirits. The changing room is full of unbelievable people, and the fan base, INCREDIBLE!!”
