Ex-Rangers star Alfredo Morelos' agent names interested clubs

Alfredo Morelos' agent has lifted the lid further on interest from Russia in his client.

The striker, 27, is still a free agent having left Rangers over eight weeks ago.

The Colombian departed Ibrox after six seasons at the club. He, Ryan Kent, and Scott Arfield were the high-profile free agent exits in the summer, although the latter two have since found new clubs.

Morelos has been back in his homeland, spending time with family and keeping fit by training alone ahead of the next step in his career.

Two weeks ago it emerged that Russia appeared to be a plausible option for the frontman.

Gremio and Santos of Brazil were the latest clubs to be linked, though.

His agent Martin Camagno previously told how Spartak Moscow were keen.

Now, speaking to Sport24, Camagno has revealed Spartak remains an option, while Zenit St Petersburg are also interested.

He said: “The transfer of Morelos to Russia is still possible.

"There is not only Zenit and Spartak showing interest in him, but also other Russian Premier League clubs.”

Meanwhile, Michael Beale has opened up on his decision to drop Ianis Hagi from his Champions League squad for this week's clash against PSV.

The Romanian playmaker has been left out of the Ibrox club's squad for their play-off showdown with the Dutch giants in Glasgow tomorrow.

Hagi featured against Morton at the weekend in the League Cup and was vocal at full-time as he claimed he sometimes does not agree with his manager Beale.
