Giovanni van Bronckhorst has left Liverpool; the English Premier League club has confirmed.
The former Rangers player and manager joined the then-champions last summer as an assistant manager to Arne Slot, following their successes under the Dutchman in the 2024/25 season.

Despite Slot guiding Liverpool to a fifth-place finish, which guaranteed Champions League football, the 47-year-old was dismissed, with ex-Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola taking his place in the Anfield hotseat.
Now, after his countryman's exit, van Bronckhorst has followed, alongside two of Slot's backroom staff. In a statement on their website, Liverpool said, "Liverpool FC can confirm the departures of Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters and Giovanni van Bronckhorst from the coaching staff.
"Hulshoff, as first assistant coach, and lead physical performance coach Peeters joined the Reds as part of Arne Slot’s new backroom team following his arrival as head coach in the summer of 2024.
"Both contributed to a memorable first campaign that included immediate Premier League title success in 2024-25, with the club’s 20th top-flight championship clinched at Anfield with four games to spare.
"Former Netherlands international Van Bronckhorst, meanwhile, arrived at Liverpool last summer to take up a role as an assistant coach within Slot’s set-up.

After spending three years as a player at Rangers, van Bronckhorst returned to the club in 2021, replacing Steven Gerrard, following his move to Aston Villa.
The 51-year-old won the Scottish Cup during his year in charge, while also guiding Rangers to the Europa League final in Seville.
He was dismissed the following season, with Michael Beale taking his place.
