Ex-Rangers keeper could be a target for Motherwell

Motherwell could be set to sign former Rangers and Livingston goalkeeper Liam Kelly on loan until the end of this season.

Kelly, 24, is currently second choice to former Dundee keeper Seny Dieng at Queen's Park Rangers and is likely to leave Loftus Road in search of more regular football.

The Daily Record reports that Kelly travelled to Glasgow on Monday and could find himself in Motherwell's squad for the crunch match at St Mirren on Saturday.

With Trevor Carson again injured, the Fir Park club recalled PJ Morrison from Falkirk and he was on the bench for Saturday's 3-0 derby defeat at Hamilton.

Scott Fox signed in the summer but hasn't kicked a ball after rupturing knee ligaments in pre-season training.

Jordan Archer was brought in on loan, but was also injured and he signed for Middlesborough until the end of this season following the expiration of his deal at Motherwell, and Aaron Chapman attracted criticism for his performance during the defeat on Saturday.

Kelly impressed with Livingston two seasons ago and that earned him a move to QPR, while he has also been called up to the Scotland squad.

He still has two-and-a-half years on his contract with QPR, but could be interim manager Keith Lasley's first signing.
