Ex-Rangers and Motherwell star Ross McCormack non-league move false start amid injury woes

Ross McCormack is pushing for a return to action in the English non-league after a slow start at Aldershot.

The former Rangers and Motherwell striker has made only one start for the National League side so far after being hampered by injury problems.

The 34-year-old is yet to score for his new club since the surprise move this summer, but the club claim the Scotland cap is "pushing to be back as soon as possible."

Shots boss Danny Searle revealed he has been hard at work with McCormack and stars "who do have knocks and niggles."

"We've got quite a few out at the minute," Searle told Shots TV when asked about McCormack and other injury woes.

"We've probably got six you would argue would potentially command a start.

"That is bad enough when you have a big squad, but when you haven't got a big squad that's going to affect you.

"We are working as hard as we can to get those lads back."
