Ex-Rangers administrator could take complaint over malicious prosecution to cops

A former administrator of Rangers Football Club could take a complaint over his malicious prosecution to police or other relevant authorities, a court has heard.

David Whitehouse and Paul Clark were appointed joint administrators of Rangers in 2012, but were arrested in 2014 regarding their involvement with the administration.

The pair were awarded more than £20million after charges against them were dropped.

But at an online Court of Session hearing yesterday, Roddy Dunlop QC, for Whitehouse, referred to documents which he said “took an awful lot of time and money to recover”.

He said: “Mr Whitehouse should be able to take the documents, pass them to the police, and say, ‘Please look at that and investigate’.”

A Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service spokesman said: “The Lord Advocate is putting in place arrangements, including the involvement of external senior counsel with no previous involvement in these matters, to ensure that any allegations of criminal conduct will be considered fairly and objectively.”
