Ex-QPR star seals deal at Motherwell

Motherwell have signed goalkeeper Liam Kelly from Queen's Park Rangers on a three-year deal, following a successful loan spell last season.

The move is subject to international clearance, but Kelly is expected to join his new teammates for training from today.

Kelly was on loan from the Championship club for the second half of last season and quickly became a fans' favourite, winning the players' player of the year award.

Boss Graham Alexander told Motherwell's website: "It’s brilliant to have Liam back with us and even better that he’s now our player.

"It’s been a long process but the board have been great with their patience and backing as we worked to get this deal done.

"We all saw Liam’s qualities first-hand last season, and I know how much he enjoyed his time with us previously.

"His ability, professionalism and drive will improve us again. Everyone is delighted to see him back in a Motherwell shirt."

Kelly started his career at Rangers, and moved to Livingston after spending time on loan at East Fife.

A successful spell at Almondvale led to him becoming part of the Scotland squad, and he moved to the London club, but found game-time to be difficult.
