Ex-Preston North End star Louis Moult open to Motherwell return

Louis Moult admits he'd be interested in a return to Motherwell this summer.

The 29 year-old is a free agent this summer after leaving Preston North End where his time was disrupted by serious injuries.

Moult is adorned by the Fir Park faithful after spending a prolific two and a half year spell at Motherwell and he could be set for an emotional return this summer.

'Well boss Graham Alexander admitted that he was aware of Moult's availability this summer and Moult - who has offers from clubs north and south of the border - refused to rule out a return to Lanarkshire.

Moult told Not the Old Firm : “I am open to discussions and I am not ruling anything out at this point.

"I am really excited about what the future holds, so let’s see where we go. It’ll be an interesting 4-6 weeks. The enjoyment side of it will be a big factor in my decision.

“I want to be somewhere I enjoy my football, it’s a massive thing for me. I am pretty flexible with where I will be playing.

"My kids and wife are settled but never say never. If it is Scotland, we will address that. But all the happy memories are very fresh in my mind.”

Moult averaged more than a goal every two games during his spell at Fir Park with 50 goals in 98 appearances.

His spell at Motherwell rejuvenated his career after leaving Wrexham and the Steelmen will always have a special place in Moult's heart.

He added: "I have massive respect for Motherwell as a place and as a football club.

“People were just so nice to us. Great memories. Them paying a fee for me was a massive confidence boost.

"It wasn’t a great amount of money but for Motherwell to show that intent was a huge honour.

"I just wanted to repay them for showing that trust in me. I would like to think they got their money back!

“I scored the amount of goals because I did because I was enjoying my life off the pitch. But on the pitch, the fans were giving me that confidence and along with other stuff, that’s why it was so successful for me.
