Ex-Power Rangers star Ricardo Medina charged with killing room mate by stabbing him with sword

Ricardo Medina, a former actor who appeared in Power Rangers, has been charged with allegedly killing his roommate by stabbing him repeatedly with a sword.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Medina, 36, was rearrested on Thursday morning over the fatal stabbing of Josh Sutter. The two shared a house in Green Valley.

Medina is accused of stabbing Mr Sutter during an argument over Medina’s girlfriend. He was originally arrested over the alleged incident in February but released after claiming he was defending himself from being attacked by Mr Sutter.

The 36-year-old played Red Ranger Cole Evans in the 2002 Power Rangers Wild Force series. He also appeared in an episode of ER and CSI: Miami.

Prosecutors are expected to ask for his bail to be set at $1 million. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
