Nathan Tyson has urged Chesterfield not to waste their play-off opportunity as they prepare to face Notts County this weekend.
The former Magpies striker will be included in the Spireites' squad to face his old club when the sides clash at Meadow Lane on Saturday afternoon.
The winners will claim a place in the semi-final against Torquay United knowing two victories will then secure promotion to the Football League.
The experienced Tyson played a huge part in booking Chesterfield's date against their arch-rivals by scoring the winner against Halifax to seal sixth place and a clash against Notts.
And the former Nottingham Forest forward now wants them not to let slip the chance of a glorious end to the season.
“I have worked hard to continue playing for 21 years now as a professional so you live for moments like this,” the 39-year-old told the Derbyshire Times.
“We have worked really hard to get this opportunity and to do it in the manner that we have is fantastic.
“The gaffer and the staff have worked extremely hard to get us for what is to come.
“You have got to enjoy the moment because you don’t get many chances like this but obviously nothing is done yet.
“I have missed out on Championship play-offs three times and it is heartbreaking, you want to be able to take these opportunities.”
Tyson is determined to put another promotion on his CV before calling time on his career but expects the quarter-final against Notts to be a fascinating encounter.
“I want another promotion, my wife gets sick and tired of me saying it but I just want to get that extra one," he said.
“It is going to be a fantastic game, two good teams going at it hammer and tongs and let’s see who wins.”
