Ex-Notts County forward on trial at Sheffield Wednesday after Brentford interest

Former Notts County attacker Kieran Cummings has landed himself a trial at Championship Sheffield Wednesday.

Cummings started the game and played more than an hour in a defeat against  Millwall having recently had a trial at Brentford.

He was released by Notts at the end of last season, but is now playing his football for Bourne Town in the United Counties League, Division One.

A string of impressive displays which have alerted a number of clubs  in the Championship and his co-manager at Bourne, Nathan Arnold, has been pleased with his performances.

“KC’s come down to us and put himself in the shop window," he said.

“We’ve just enjoyed him while we’ve had him. He’s been a breath of fresh air for us and he’s got 10 or 15 per cent extra out of the lads around him.

“Young lads can now see that actually if you work hard and do the business on the pitch then there is an opportunity for them.

“He’s given a bit of hope and inspiration to the other young lads that anything is possible.

“For him to make that jump to Brentford just goes to show that it doesn’t make any difference to what level you’re playing at.

“You just never know who is watching and that’s the kind of message which has come out of KC’s situation.
