Ex-Notts County favourite explains why he's joined National League promotion rivals

Former Notts County defender Krystian Pearce says the ambition of Solihull Moors was a pivotal factor in his decision to join the Magpies' promotion rivals.

The towering centre-back has signed a short-term deal for Jimmy Shan's side who are looking to secure Football League status next term.

Moors currently sit seventh in the National League table after making an encouraging start to the division.

And Pearce intends to do all he can to help the club try to claim a place in the EFL.

“It’s a good set-up here, Moors are an ambitious club trying to get into the league, so it suited me down to a tee,” he said.

“I’ve been in the game a long time now and captained Mansfield for the last three, four years, so I just want to bring my quality and experience to the team.

“I’m a local boy so it just fits hand in hand really. Like I said, it’s an ambitious club and I’m an ambitious person so hopefully we can get into the league.”

Pearce spent three years at Notts from 2010 and made more than 60 appearances for the club.

He was released by Mansfield in the summer having spent five years at the One Call Stadium where  he was captain and played more than 180 Football League games.
