Ex-Notts County chief Kevin Nolan 'interested in managerial job' at crisis club Bolton Wanderers

Former Notts County boss Kevin Nolan is  interested in taking over at crisis club Bolton Wanderers, according to BBC sport.

Phil Parkinson and his assistant, Steve Parkin, both quit their roles at the University of Bolton Stadium this week as the club, who are currently in administration, continues to spiral deeper into turmoil.

Tuesday night's clash with Doncaster Rovers was postponed amid welfare concerns for Bolton's young squad who are currently made up of players fast-tracked form their youth set-up.

And with only a single point won this season, they sit in League One's relegation zone on -11 points.

Nolan, who spent a decade with Wanderers as a player, has been without a managerial job since he was sacked by Notts early last season.

But the report claims that Nolan is hopeful his experience working under 'trying conditions' at Notts and Leyton Orient will offer him a strong chance to land the role.

During his time at Meadow Lane, he led the Magpies to within touching distance of promotion to League One after he saw his side beaten by Coventry City in the play-off semi-final.
