Ex-Nottingham Forest striker Chuba Akpom emotional after scoring stunning bicycle kick to win his side domestic double

Nottingham Forest flop Chuba Akpom has seen his record breaking season in Greece go from strength to strength.

City Ground fans were only ever given seven opportunities under Dougie Freedman to see the Arsenal prodigy during his short and unsuccessful loan spell with the club in 2015.

After just two months he returned to the Emirates, but now with Greek club PAOK he has hit form and helped them on their way to an invincible season and played the most vital of roles as they lifted the Greek Cup.

Former Nottingham Forest flop Nicklas Bendtner a 'finished man'

His cup winning overhead kick, one of the best goals you will see in world football this weekend, sparked emotional celebrations from the London-born striker who headed down to the touchline to celebrate in front of his family.

"It's been a difficult season for me," he told Greek reporters at full time. "I didn't play in the beginning of the season. I thought things were going bad.

"To end a match like this, to score the goal in the final, I just feel so happy. I don't know what to say now. It's a very special moment for me.

"The ball came behind him. I had to improvise. The bicycle kick was like something I'd do on FIFA, you know. It was nice.

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall says Ibrox farewell ahead of City Ground return

"My girlfriend is here. I'm devoted to my family. No matter how things are going, good or bad, my family support me, and to the fans as well."

POAK's incredible season in the Greek Super League will see Akpom contest for a place in next season's Champions League when qualification rounds start in June.

But, should Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur to lift the trophy in three week's time then POAK will be handed a bye, putting them just two wins away from the group stages.
