Ex-Nottingham Forest midfielder gets gig as BBC and ITV confirm Euro 2020 commentary teams

BBC and ITV have confirmed their line-ups in the battle for Euro 2020 final viewers.

More than 25 million people will be watching in the UK as England take on Italy at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening (8pm) - and the match is being broadcast on both main channels.

The broadcasters have been largely praised for their coverage through the tournament and there is expected to be a more even split than in previous years.

The BBC has appointed Guy Mowbray as commentator alongside ex-Nottingham Forest midfielder Jermaine Jenas.

In the studio, Gary Lineker will host with pundits Alan Shearer, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.

Gabby Logan will be pitchside with Jurgen Klinsmann and former England Women's defender Alex Scott.

Kelly Somers will be conducting player interviews.

On ITV, Sam Matterface has got the commentary gig with former Stoke City right-back Lee Dixon on analyst duty.

Mark Pougatch will be programme anchor and the team of pundits includes Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Ian Wright.

Seema Jaswal will be pitchside with Emma Hayes and Ashley Cole and Gabriel Clarke will be on interviews.

A peak audience of 25.71 million watched ITV's coverage of England's semi-final win over Denmark, making it the most watched non-news TV event since England's World Cup semi-final against Croatia in 2018.

Adding in live streams, ITV's latest figures suggest a peak audience of 27.6 million.

BBC Radio 5 Live will also be broadcasting live from Wembley.

Mark Chapman will present the build-up from 6pm and there will be a special 606 phone-in show with Alistair Bruce-Ball and Chris Sutton from 11pm.

John Murray will be match commentator alongside Micah Richards, Chris Waddle and pitchside reporter Karen Carney.

Mark Saggers will present TalkSPORT's coverage, with Jim Proudfoot commentating, Stuart Pearce and Sol Campbell as co-commentators and Jose Mourinho as pundit.
