Former Nottingham Forest loanee Alfa Semedo is heading back to the Championship as he closes in on a move to Reading.
The Royals are front-runners to clinch his signature with the move expected to be completed in the coming days according to reports in the Portuguese media.
Record say that his club Benfica will save themselves 600,000 Euros with the Royals paying the player's wages.
Semedo made 24 appearances for Forest last season as the Reds missed out on a top-six finish on the final day of last season when Sabri Lamouhci's side lost 4-1 on the final day against Stoke City.
There had been rumours of Forest bringing Semedo back for another loan spell, but the Reds opted to look elsewhere.
Benfica had signed Semedo from Moreirense two years ago but he was quickly sent out on loan having joined Espanyol on a short loan deal in January 2019.
