Former Nottingham Forest defender Greg Halford offered a damning assessment of the Reds' defeat to Swansea and says boss Chris Hughton needs January signings.
Forest succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against the Swans on Sunday that left them at the wrong end of the table with the Reds struggling to ignite their season.
Fans now fear a relegation battle could be on the cards despite a summer of heavy investment which saw a glittering array of talent arrive at the City Ground.
But Sabri Lamouchi struggled to get the best from a bundle of summer signings and paid the price with his job last month which then led to the arrival of Hughton.
The former Norwich boss is doing all he can to spark Forest into life, but is not being repaid on the pitch.
And Halford, who watched their game against Swansea, admits they need to go back into the transfer market yet again.
He Tweeted yesterday: "Was looking forward to seeing Forest play. But that was really bad. One of the worst performances I've seen from them.
"Need to get to Jan as quick as possible for Chris to get what he wants in."
Forest are currently in the bottom four after a dismal start and have won just three of their opening 14 games which has left them on 12 points, two ahead of newly-promoted Wycombe.
Forest may well be forced into the market if their situation does not improve, but are new signings what the club needs?
