The Chargers are in desperate need of shoring up the interior defensive line, and they seem to be seeking a prospect that could help with doing so. Los Angeles will be bringing in former Notre Dame defensive tackle Jerry Tillery for a pre-draft visit.
Tillery’s name has been linked to L.A. since the beginning of the pre-draft process. The team fit and the likeliness of him being there at No. 28 overall when the Chargers are on the clock is a match made in heaven.
There have been concerns raised with Tillery in terms of previous on-field concerns early on his career with the Fighting Irish and many questioning whether or not he actually loves football. Along with that, he recently had surgery for a torn labrum, which appears to be completely healed. This could be in part of the team bringing him in for an official visit.
The bottom line is that even though there are people caught up in the intangibles, Tillery has made it clear that he values football like any other player in this class. And the tape shows a defensive tackle that would wreak havoc for Los Angeles.
