Ex-NFL great Richard Seymour folded a big WSOP Main Event hand on his way to elimination

Former Patriots and Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour had quite a run at the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event that sadly came to an end on Wednesday night.

The man has done extremely well at winning money from poker over the years and has lasted decently long in WSOP Main Events in the past. This time, at one point, he was in 35th place.

But according to a reporter, his luck and chips ran out. He finished 131st (out of 8,569! That’s amazing!) and took home $59,295, which is an incredible ROI on his $10,000 investment.

Here are photos from the moment he lost:

And here’s a video from a hand that might have turned the tides for him. He’s got a pair of 10s against Jeffrey Eldred who has 6-5 offsuit and raises all in with 4-2-8 on the board and hoping for a 3 or a 7 for a straight. Seymour ultimately folds a hand he had 65 percent chance of winning and Eldred shows him his cards. Oof.

Give Seymour an ovation, that’s an incredible accomplishment.
