Kevin Nolan has backed Frank Lampard to use his knowledge of Chelsea's young stars to be a success at Stamford Bridge.
As well as knowing the club inside-out, Lampard had the benefit of leading the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount during his debut season in management as he guided Derby County to the play-off final.
Derby boasted a number of talented youngsters last term, and Lampard's ability to lead and develop them could be crucial as Chelsea's transfer ban takes its toll.
With the Blues unable to sign any new players, the new Chelsea boss will need to supplement his first team squad products of their academy system, and according to Nolan, it's this which makes Frank Lampard the undoubted first choice for the job.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for him (Frank Lampard). I don't think he can turn it down.
"I think he will succeed. He's got the talent and he's certainly got the aura about him because he's a legend.
"He's got the knowledge in terms of his backroom staff. They're not going to be able to splash the cash, but they're going to be able to blood youngsters and know who the best ones there are.
"I'm very excited to see what they're about next season. One thing he will bring is a winning mentality because he was a winner."
