Ex-Motherwell and Rangers star Ross McCormack returns from football exile in English non-league

Former Rangers and Motherwell star Ross McCormack says it was a "no-brainer" to return to football in the English non-league.

The 34-year-old, who has commanded over £25 million in transfer fees, last played for The Steelmen in his second spell while on loan from Aston Villa in early 2019.

The temporary deal was cut short with the striker plagued by injury. He made just three appearances under Stephen Robinson.

However, the ex-Fulham and Cardiff star is now back in the game after penning a 12-month deal at Aldershot Town in the National League.

He told Shots TV : "It wasn't really a hard decision to make to be honest.

"I've had a good break out of the game for; well I've not played last season. So I'm in a good head space and ready and hungry to get going again.

"It was no-brainer to come here and get going."
