Ex-Manchester United star Paul McGrath in heartfelt plea to help trace missing son

Former Manchester United star Paul McGrath has issued a desperate social media plea to help find his son.

The ex-Republic of Ireland international defender launched the heartfelt appeal on Twitter in a bid to locate son Paul, who was last seen earlier this week.

He said police have been informed, and that they were all 'very concerned' about him.

It's not clear when or where exactly Paul was last seen, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The defender - who also played for Aston Villa and is considered one of the greatest ever Irish players - shared a photo of the two of them together on Twitter on Thursday night, appealing for people to keep an eye out for him.

He wrote: "Please retweet. Looking for social media help please. Has anyone seen my son Paul in around Hale, Manchester, London or any airports in the past few days?

"Police have been informed but we are very concerned and someone somewhere might have spotted him. Thank you."
