Grab your tool belts and your red wine glasses because Channel Nine is said to be cooking up the most chaotic crossover since that time Married At First Sight’s (MAFS) Bryce tried to apologise on live TV.
According to whispers floating out of Nine HQ, two former MAFS contestants are apparently in the running to join the 2026 season of The Block. Yes, really. Because who needs blueprints when you’ve got unfinished emotional business?
“They’ve been told not to tell a soul,” one insider told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“The secrecy has been next-level. You can tell Nine’s trying to build something big here.”

Production insiders reckon casting is already well underway, even though the Daylesford season hasn’t even hit auction night yet. Apparently, the creative team has already shifted focus to the Mount Eliza series, and they’re gunning for maximum chaos.
The network’s plan? Smash together the high-stakes pressure of The Block with blokes who lack ‘situational awareness’ that we have come to love on MAFS! And just… see what happens.
“It’s basically Nine’s two biggest reality monsters in one,” says the source.
“They want it to be more savage, more spicy. The kind of show where a fight breaks out over a floor plan.”
Judging by early audition whispers, they’re not afraid to go full feral.
“They actually said, ‘You’ll be cutting power to the other houses!’” one auditionee laughed. “If that’s the tone, buckle up! This season’s gonna be brutal.”
So, who’s strapping on a toolbelt?

The mystery ex-MAFS stars are apparently from the same season, but both are desperate to keep their names out of the headlines until the deal is signed, sealed and probably under embargo.
Filming’s tipped to start in January, which gives the network plenty of time to lock in the drama, the tradies and some man buns.
“It’s reality TV gold,” the insider teased. “They’re ready to build houses and throw glasses of wine.”
Nine hasn’t confirmed anything yet (obviously), but if this mash-up actually happens? Expect power tools, power plays, and at least one contestant storming off-site in a hi-vis meltdown.
