Emre Can has hit out at Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri for not giving him chance to impress this season, with the German midfielder’s long-term future in Turin in question.
The former Liverpool midfielder moved to Italy in 2018 on a free transfer.
But he is enduring a nightmare second season at the Allianz Stadium, making just three substitute appearances in Serie A so far.
And the 25 year-old was also left out of the club’s Champions League squad.
Can played the full 90 minutes for Germany in their 2-2 draw with Argentina on Wednesday night.
Speaking post-game, he admitted his unhappiness at his current situation - but insists he is optimistic he can turn things around.
"I'm not happy [at Juventus ] right now. I don't play much at the moment," Can said.
"Last season I played a lot. Especially in important games for Juventus. And I also played well there.
"I haven't had a chance this season.
"But now I think, when I come back to the club, I will get chances again.
"I am definitely grateful to Joachim Low. Because I didn't play much in the club and he invited me anyway.
"Nevertheless, he gave me the chance. That's why I was simply happy that I played again."
Can is back in action for Die Mannschaft on Sunday, when Joachim Low's side face Estonia in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
Juventus are next in action against Bologna after the international break, seeking to extend a one-point gap at the head of Serie A.
But Can's long-term future is anything but secure, with him being mooted in numerous reports as a potential makeweight in a move from Juve for Paul Pogba.
Can has also been linked with a switch to Spain.
