Ex-Liverpool FC star warns 'experimental' Manchester United side could cause Man City problems

Former Liverpool captain Graeme Souness believes Manchester City will take control of the title race this evening but warns Manchester United could create problems.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made five changes to the side that was swept aside by Everton on Sunday, with a selection that raised the eyebrows of many fans and the Sky Sports pundits themselves.

City , aiming to become the first side to defend their Premier League title in a decade, are firm favourites to beat their closest rivals this evening and Souness believes it will be the away side that is celebrating at the final whistle.

However, Souness warned that United could throw a spanner in the works despite claiming the side selected by Solskjaer is an experimental one.

Manchester United line up against Man City includes Matteo Darmian and Andreas Pereira

“Never attach logic to football. The way the two teams are, City should win comfortably, but it won’t be like that,” he told Sky Sports

“United are capable of turning up tonight. But I doubt they will take anything off City. I think it’s a real worry if you’re a United fan.

“This is largely an experimental team. United don’t know what their best midfield or back five are.”
