Ex-Liverpool FC midfielder Dietmar Hamann tips Jadon Sancho to make Manchester United transfer this summer

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes Jadon Sancho will leave Borussia Dortmund to join Manchester United this summer.

The 20-year-old has been in sensational form for the Bundesliga side this year, scoring 20 goals and registering 18 assists.

The COVID-19 pandemic is set to have an impact on the transfer market this summer, with some top European clubs struggling due to the financial crisis.

However, MEN Sports understand that Sancho remains a top target for United, with right-wing a key area of the squad Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen.

Dortmund are keen to retain the services of Sancho and expect him to remain at the club, according to head of football Sebastian Kehl, but could let the winger go if a suitor can meet their €110million valuation.

Despite the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly struggling to generate cash for major signings this summer, Manchester United and Chelsea are still expected to be active.

Hamann believes that whilst some expected transfer may have to be delayed, Sancho is too good to stay at Dortmund and expects him to move to Old Trafford.

“There will continue to be a market for the top players, like Jadon Sancho – he’s just too good to wait another year,” he told Bild.

“I see him going to the Premier League. The most likely option there is Manchester United.”
