Former Liverpool star Glen Johnson does not feel new Arsenal signing David Luiz is the right man to take the Gunners forward.
Arsenal struggled mightily last season when it came to goals conceded as they let in 51.
That contributed massively to the club finishing fifth, with Chelsea and Tottenham, who ended third and fourth respectively, both conceding twelve fewer goals than Arsenal.
Luiz has joined from Chelsea in a shock £8m move which was confirmed on deadline day.
Johnson, however, doesn't feel like it's the right fit for what the Gunners actually need in his opinion.
"He is one of those players who is fantastic and great to watch but you don't necessarily want him in your team," Johnson told talkSPORT.
"You have to agree that he has won all sorts throughout his career.
"But for me Arsenal need a backbone and I'm not sure he's that.
"He enjoys football and plays it the right way but Arsenal need something solid. I don't think he's the man for that but as an outsider, he will be great to watch."

On Luiz, Johnson added: "Playing alongside him he would be one of those players you would have to be a yard closer to in case the unexpected happened.
"He's great when everything comes off but it's almost like you are babysitting him."
