Former Tottenham and Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli has made a bold prediction on how the summer transfer window will look in the Premier League.
The season is currently suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis but the plan is for the campaign to be extended into the summer months to provide time for completion.
However, the financial implications of the crisis are being felt by clubs across the English football pyramid and the Premier League is not immune.
In fact, Comolli believes the summer transfer window will be extremely different this summer, with a lot more player swaps and loans taking place.
"An agent was saying the other day only three clubs in the Premier League will be able to spend money. If that's the case I think the transfer window will be very different," he told Sky Sports News.
"We might see swaps, we might see loans and we are going to a see a massive decrease in transfer fees and activity - at least transfers involving money.
"The more this crisis goes on and the clubs are in a difficult situation financially, the first thing that will be impacted will be player remuneration and the second thing will be transfer fees."
The dates for the summer transfer window are yet to be confirmed amid the crisis but there has been claims that the window could be open until the end of the year.
FIFA regulations state that the summer transfer window must be open for 12 weeks which, if the season was concluded in July, would see the window open until October.
