Ex-Lions TE Eric Ebron now frustrating Colts fans with his drops

You can take Eric Ebron out of Detroit, but you apparently cannot take the Eric Ebron out of Eric Ebron.

The former Lions tight end, reviled in Detroit for his unreliable hands, is up to his old tricks with his new team, the Indianapolis Colts. While he did have an impressive 2018 for the Colts, year two in Indy looks a lot like his Lions tenure.

This is something we could have written here at Lions Wire in 2016 or 2017, but it’s not us. This is from brother site Colts Wire and editor Kevin Hickey from after Indianapolis’ loss to the Raiders in Week 4.

The Colts offense was plagued by drops throughout the entire game, and the main culprit was the tight end in Ebron. Though he came into the game with a strong matchup, Ebron had at least three drops during the first half—a few of which were wide open passes. Ebron wasn’t the only one suffering from drops, but he was brutal when it came to securing catches.

It wasn’t a complete waste of a day for Ebron. He thrived in garbage time once the game was already lost,

“He did salvage his day with a 48-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter.”

Ebron has caught eight passes on 16 targets, netting 128 yards and two TDs. Per PFF, he has three dropped passes but scores well in their blocking evaluation.

Colts fans are not pleased…
