Zach Zenner has finally found a new NFL home. The former Lions running back has signed with the New Orleans Saints.
Zenner played four seasons in Detroit and quickly became a fan favorite for his hard-charging style and gung-ho attitude. His best season was in 2016 when the South Dakota State product started four games and rushed for a career-high 334 yards and four touchdowns.
The Lions released Zenner ahead of the final roster cutdown in August to allow him to more easily latch on with another team, but he had not signed with anyone until joining the Saints on Wednesday. He had previously worked out for New Orleans. Zenner is reunited with Saints QB coach Joe Lombardi, who was the Lions offensive coordinator in his rookie season in 2015.
