Ex-Lions RB Theo Riddick remains unsigned after two team visits

Running back Theo Riddick has yet to find a new NFL team. After being released over the weekend by the Detroit Lions, the veteran back has had a couple of suitors but thus far, nobody willing to commit.

Riddick’s first visit was to the New Orleans Saints. That made some sense, as former Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi now coaches for the Saints and Riddick had some prolific years under him. He left the Saints without a contract, however.

That led Riddick to Denver and a visit with the Broncos. Once again, the team passed on offering the receiving-oriented RB a contract.

He is a free agent and his Lions contract is null and void, so teams can offer Riddick whatever they feel is worthy. Thus far, that has not worked for him.
