Ex-Lions DT Jerel Worthy trying to make it in the XFL

The XFL reboot is really starting to take shape. Vince McMahon’s new spring football league is set to kick off in 2020 and the XFL is already holding tryouts for players around the country.

At the New York tryout late last week, there were several familiar names. One of them is defensive tackle Jerel Worthy.

The former Michigan State standout played for the Lions in the preseason of 2015 but did not make the final cut. He wound up bouncing between the Bills active roster and practice squad, Worthy was originally a second-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2012 but the Spartans star never panned out.
