Per his agent via Tom Pelissero of ESPN, former Lions defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson will sign a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams.
Robinson will join the Rams for two years at a rate of $17 million total. The $8.5 million per year is more than what the Lions are paying Danny Shelton to join Detroit.
Robinson was the Lions’ second-round pick out of Alabama in 2016. In four years in Detroit he flashed solid play but never made a big impact outside of an impressive handful of games in his second season. He played 13 games last season, starting nine, and recorded 40 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
