Ex-Lion Ezekiel Ansah visits with Seahawks but still has no contract offers

Former Lions EDGE Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah remains one of the biggest names on the veteran free agent market, and it appears he will remain in that status for a while longer. Ansah had a visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday. However, the oft-injured pass rusher left without an immediate contract offer.

Ansah has had visits with the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens in the leadup to the NFL draft, but the 2014 first-round pick has yet to find a new home. The Lions chose to let Ansah become a free agent after he played the 2018 season on the franchise tag.

Health is a major concern for Ansah, who suffered two separate, serious shoulder injuries during the ’18 campaign. He played just seven games, accruing 4 sacks. Ansah had 12 sacks in 14 games in 2017 but just 2 in 13 games the prior season. He turns 30 at the end of May.
