Ex-Linfield striker Paul Munster celebrates Asia Super Cup success with Bhayangkara FC

Former Linfield striker Paul Munster was celebrating more trophy success last weekend.

The 37-year-old is the head coach Bhayangkara FC, an Indonesian professional football club based in Jakarta.

Munster's football career has taken him across the world.

He has played and coached in countries including Canada, Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic and India where he won two trophies in seven months with I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC.

The Belfast man also managed Vanuatu in the Pacific Islands before taking over at Bhayangkara in September last year.

And on Sunday Bhayangkara became Asia Super Cup champions 2020 with a 2-1 victory over Petaling Jaya City FC at Siem Reap Stadium, Cambodia.

Despite trailing, goals from Putu Gede Juni Antara and Ezechiel N Douassel saw Munster's spirited side earn their win.

It is the latest success for Munster who also led Swedish club Orebro SK's Under19 and U21 sides to silverware glory.

The former Linfield man played over 100 times for the Blues from 2008-11, after beginning his youth career with Cliftonville.

During his time at Windsor Park Munster won the league title and Irish Cup in 2010 and 2011, and was the club's top goalscorer in the 2009/2010 season.
