Ex-Leeds United man tips Tottenham Hotspur and England star for Whites in surprise transfer

Leeds United are preparing for a key summer in the transfer market in an effort to build on what has been a successful first season back in the Premier League.

The Whites are expected to get the cheque book out once again as they did last summer, with adding further quality to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad the objective.

The aspirations of mid-table Leeds are to push further up the league ladder and start edging their way towards the European places in the next two years, with recruitment key to that ambition.

Already a number of names have been linked, but now former Leeds and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has thrown another name forward.

Robinson would like to see Leeds make a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks.

The 25-year-old England international is finding it hard to break into the Spurs starting line-up under Jose Mourinho, and while he has played 28 games in all competitions this season, the majority have been off the bench.

Robinson feels Winks would be a great addition to Bielsa’s side and alongside Ben White, would be a fantastic addition to the side.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News Robinson said: “He’s a great player, I rate him really highly.

“He’s been unlucky at Spurs not to get more game time because I think he could get in any of the top-six sides. He’s a great player.

“If he came to Leeds it would be a real coup. Harry Winks and Ben White would be a great start to the summer and I expect Leeds to spend big again.”
