Ex-Leeds United man claims Pontus Jansson's attitude cost him at Elland Road

Three Leeds United managers fell out with Pontus Jansson during the Swedish defender's time at Elland Road, according to former Whites ace Danny Mills.

The 28-year-old secured a move to Championship rivals Brentford this week and has since claimed that his sale was required due to FFP regulations.

Jansson, popular among fans at Elland Road, has seen his exit divide opinions, with many supporters unhappy at his departure, but Mills has revealed the deep cracks in his relationships at the club.

According to Mills, Jansson fell out with three managers during his time with Leeds - including Marcelo Bielsa last season.

“Jansson fell out with Marcelo Bielsa, he fell out with Garry Monk and he fell out with Paul Heckingbottom, there were bust-ups because he was a difficult player to manage” Mills exclusively told Football Insider.

“He had the issue at the end of last season against Aston Villa when everyone was told to let the goal go in.

“He thinks he is a little bit better than he is. He concentrates too much on being the fans favourite rather than concentrating on his football. He needs to knuckle down and focus on what he is trying to do.

“Word gets around in football. If you are Luis Suarez, people will take a chance on you because you are brilliant. If you are average or just good, people are less likely to take the risk.”
