Former Leeds United defender Gunnar Halle says part of Erling Haaland's heart will always be in England due to his connections to the Whites.
Halle played alongside Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, for the Whites before going on to coach the forward in Norway's youth system.
Haaland was born in Leeds, spending his early years in the city whilst his father played for Man City.
Both City and Man United are keen on the 20-year-old after sensational form for Borussia Dortmund, with Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously coaching Haaland at Molde.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Halle, who made 70 appearances for the Whites between 1996 and 1999, said he feels Haaland will always have an emotional connection to England.
The 55-year-old also said he expects Haaland to switch clubs in search of on-field success rather than for money reasons.
He said: "It’s difficult to say with the Spanish and English interest there are so many things now that have to be considered with his agent and everything and the money, of course, will be quite a lot.
"But of course I think a little bit of his heart will be in England because his dad was playing there with Leeds and City but also his connection with Ole Gunnar so I think his Dad will maybe play a part."
He added: "Erling will be thinking about where he can have more success in the way he is playing and not the money, he will get a lot of money anywhere.
"I think they will see where he can play his best football and where the team and manager can help him.
"So it’s difficult to say at this moment"
