Ex ITV I'm A Celeb star says one contestant is 'manipulating' the camp

A former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star has claimed one of this year's contestants is "manipulating" the other campmates. Gillian McKeith, who made a memorable appearance on the ITV reality show back in 2010, predicted that if Matt Hancock is not the first celebrity to leave the camp, he could end up winning.

The TV personality and writer - who hosted You Are What You Eat - tipped ex England rugby star Mike Tindall will ultimately be crowned King of the Jungle. But she was wary of the former health secretary "weaving people into his web" and claimed I'm A Celeb is "totally the Matt Hancock show".

Gillian told The Sun: "You do get a sense from him that he is lacking self awareness, but when it comes to politicians they are so clever, they are very good at weaving people into their web and making themselves appear extremely amiable and kind and caring. He is demonstrating all of these qualities on the show so of course he could be manipulating us because aren’t politicians like that?"

She went on to admit the West Suffolk MP and jungle camp leader was coming across well and "very skilled" at appearing likeable, adding: "I think if he is not out first, then he has a chance of winning. It will be extreme - he will either be out first or in the running to win."

The 63-year-old, who "fainted" twice during her own stint in the jungle, also took a swipe at the sitting MP for his "tone deaf" decision to leave behind the constituency job he is being paid for. Her comments come as I'm A Celeb fans hit out at Boy George for remarks about Matt behind his back aired last night (November 15).

The Culture Club singer was talking to Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver about the politician when he added: "I find him very hard to warm to." Sue then commented: "You've got an economist in a camp with a load of creatives", adding "he uses a different side of his brain", before George quipped: "Does he use any of his brains?"

Some viewers didn't take kindly to the comments, including @Jakebug22 who tweeted: "Boy George has to go, he's a miserable rude man and Sue is a two-faced woman #ImACeleb." @Someuser6969 commented: "As usual Boy George has nothing good to say behind anyone’s back" and @Compo_7 added: "Unpopular opinion - I like Matt Hancock more than I like Boy George. #ImACeleb."
