Ex-Irish League boss describes 3-5-2 formation in hilarious video

It's a team talk that was a few hours in the making.

And probably left the manager with a bit of a selection headache afterwards.

Former Irish League boss Gerard Lyttle found a novel way to highlight the 3-5-2 formation.

Lyttle - who managed Cliftonville and also League of Ireland club Sligo Rovers - showcased the set-up in a hilarious video on social media.

But instead of using tactical counters or flashy technology, he went through the formation using a selection of beer cans and a wine bottle "for the big centre forward".

There was even a cheeky wee glass of gin for the goalkeeper!

Lyttle says in the video: "Great discussion tonight with Jim Magilton around the 3-5-2 formation.

"So, I have just a couple of diagrams about what we were talking about."

Lyttle - who is involved in the IFA's Elite Academy with former Northern Ireland captain Magilton - jokes: "It was a really good, productive discussion, but probably lasted too long.

"I think it started at around 10pm and is just getting finished now."
