Ex Hibs and Celtic striker linked with Scottish Premiership return as Livi eye Lyndon Dykes replacement

Former Hibs striker Anthony Stokes could be set to return to the Scottish Premiership with Livingston.

The 32-year-old Irishman hasn't played in Scotland since he departed Easter Road in early 2018.

According to Record Sport, Gary Holt has identified the frontman as a potential replacement for Lyndon Dykes who signed for Queen's Park Rangers in a £2million deal this week.

The West Lothian club are reportedly keen to offer Stokes a one-year deal, and should everything go well he could even be ready to face Aberdeen this weekend.

Stokes is of course one of Hibs' Scottish Cup final heroes having scored twice in the 2016 victory over Rangers.

He's played for the Easter Road club across three different spells.

He is currently a free agent having left Iranian club Persepolis. In recent years he has also played in Greece and Turkey.
