Ex-Hamilton and Rangers midfielder praises Queen's Park 'ambition' after shock League Two switch

Former Hamilton favourite Darren Lyon is the latest top talent to make a surprise move to Queen's Park.

The ex-Rangers and Peterborough midfielder left Queen of the South at the end of the curtailed Championship campaign and has opted for a move to Ray MacKinnon's side.

The 26-year-old came through the youth ranks at New Douglas Park playing most of his professional career with Accies.

However, he is now looking for a fresh start with The Spiders.

Lyon told the Queen's Park website: “I’m delighted to be here and to have joined a club with the ambition Queen’s Park has.

"I had a number of options to choose from, but the club ticked a lot of boxes for me, particularly in terms of the ambition and where the club wants to go.”
