An ex-Greggs employee has explained how to get free food from the high street chain.
The former store manager Jamie Dear, said employees are allowed to hand out freebies if you’re genuinely not happy with the food on offer.
For example, if your local Greggs has run out of a certain product, or if what you’ve ordered is cold.
Jamie explained this rule while being interviewed on the Channel 5 documentary Inside Greggs: Britain’s Best Bakery .
However, Greggs has yet to confirm whether this is a nationwide policy or if this is just down to manager discretion.
If it is down to staff to decide who gives out a freebie, then it might mean they choose not to give you something even if you do complain.

We’ve asked Greggs for more information and we’ll update this article when we get a response.
Speaking during the Channel 5 show, Jamie said: “If ever there are no sausage rolls or if there are cold products, Greggs can offer the customer something free of charge."
In the documentary, fans heard how Greggs sells a whopping 50,000 doughnuts an hour and produces 2.5 million sausage rolls a week.
Only Tesco and McDonalds sells more, with Greggs taking a 4% share of the market compared to McDonalds' 4.1% and selling more sausage rolls than Big Macs.

Jamie also explained how staff tell the different pastries apart by their unique markings - saying it’s like “learning another language”.
For example, the corned beef pastry has a zig zag line going across it, the sausage and bean has three horizontal slits and the cheese and onion bake has got giant Vs.
Jamie said: "One of the first things you have to do is learn the markings.
"And it can only really be done in a text book style with a list and picture of what it should look like.
In terms of cooking the sausage rolls, Jamie explained how they arrive frozen in stores and are cooked for 25 minutes before arriving on the shelves.
